5 separate ropes. Yarn Wrapped. You can wear all the ropes together for the bold effect or just 1,2 at the time to match your clothing and style. You can mix and match the ropes between the sets. My necklaces have no clasps. You simply wrap the ropes around your neck as many times as permitted. You can wear them long or short .
